Top Mods for Your Valheim Server

All of these need BepInEx enabled first, see How to Install Mods for the setup steps that apply to any mod on this list.

Valheim Plus

The big one. Lets you adjust stamina, carry weight, building restrictions, damage, and dozens of other settings server-wide. If you only install one mod, this is usually it. See How to Install Valheim Plus for the dedicated walkthrough.

EpicLoot

Adds a full loot rarity and enchanting system: magic, rare, epic, and legendary item variants with bonus effects. Changes the whole feel of gearing up, closer to an action RPG than vanilla Valheim's crafting-only progression.

PlantEverything

Removes the restriction on where you can plant crops and trees, so you're not stuck farming in one narrow biome-specific zone. Purely a quality-of-life change, doesn't touch combat or progression.

BetterUI

Adds extra information to the game's interface: more detailed tooltips, a portal overview, and clearer stat displays. Doesn't change gameplay, just makes the existing information easier to see.

Equipment and Quick Slots

Adds extra equipment slots and quick-access item slots beyond the vanilla hotbar. Useful once your inventory of tools, weapons, and consumables outgrows what vanilla gives you room for.

Before installing any of these

Check the mod's own page for which Valheim version it currently supports. Valheim updates occasionally break older mod versions until the mod author catches up, install an outdated mod version against a newer game version and it may fail to load or cause crashes.

Still stuck?

If a specific mod isn't loading, see the troubleshooting section in How to Install Mods, or open a support ticket with your server ID and which mod you're trying to add.
