How much RAM does my Minecraft server need?
Can I run Forge, Fabric, Paper or Spigot?
Yes. Every ThundraNode Minecraft server lets you switch between vanilla, Paper, Spigot, Purpur, Fabric, Forge and NeoForge from the control panel, and you can change the Minecraft version whenever you like. There is no extra charge for running a modded server.
How do I install mods, plugins and modpacks?
Our built in CurseForge integration installs thousands of modpacks with one click, no manual file juggling. Plugins and individual mods can be dropped straight into your plugins or mods folder through the built in file manager or over SFTP. Nothing is locked down or whitelisted.
Can I upload my existing Minecraft world?
Yes. Stop the server, upload your world folder as a zip through the file manager or over SFTP, unzip it and start the server again. Singleplayer worlds, realms exports and worlds from another host all work the same way, and our support team will do the migration for you if you would rather not touch it.
How many players can join my server?
The player counts listed on each plan are a comfortable guideline, not a hard cap, and you can raise the slot limit yourself in server.properties. What actually decides your headroom is RAM and how heavy your plugins or modpack are, which is why every plan runs on Ryzen 9 7950X3D cores and NVMe SSD storage rather than shared budget hardware.
Do you host Minecraft Bedrock and crossplay servers?
These plans are for Minecraft Java Edition. If you play on console, mobile or the Windows 10 edition, see our Minecraft Bedrock server hosting. You can also run crossplay on a Java server by installing the Geyser and Floodgate plugins, which we support on every plan.
