How to Transfer a Co-op World to Your Dedicated Server

Palworld · 1 min read · ThundraNode Support

Started in co-op and want to keep playing 24/7? You can move your existing world onto your dedicated server.

Find your co-op save on your PC

Palworld stores local saves here (Steam):

%LocalAppData%\Pal\Saved\SaveGames\<YourSteamID>\<WorldFolder>

Each <WorldFolder> is a long string of letters and numbers, one per world. If you have several, check the modified date, or load the world in-game to confirm which one it is.

Upload it to the server

  1. Stop your server in the Game Panel.
  2. In the Files tab, go to Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0/.
  3. Take a backup (or rename the existing world folder) so you can roll back.
  4. Upload your world folder: zip it first, upload, then unzip in the file manager.
  5. Open Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/GameUserSettings.ini and set DedicatedServerName= to your uploaded folder's name.
  6. Start the server and join.

Important caveats

  • The co-op host's character may need fixing. Palworld historically stored the host's data differently in co-op saves; after transferring, the host can appear as a brand-new character. Community tools exist to migrate host data, and newer game versions have improved this, but always test with a copy of the save, never your only one.
  • Guild ownership can behave oddly after transfer; have the host log in first.
  • Keep your local save untouched until everyone confirms the server world is intact.

If a transfer goes sideways, open a ticket. We can help move the files with you.
