Hundreds of hours of catching, breeding and base-building live in one folder. Back it up before patch day gets a chance to ruin your week.
Create a backup
- Open your server in the Game Panel.
- Run
/Savefrom the console so the very latest progress is on disk. - Go to the Backups tab and click Create Backup.
That's it, the backup is stored off your server's live files.
Restore a backup
- Stop the server.
- In the Backups tab, pick the backup and click Restore.
- Start the server and verify the world in-game before deleting anything.
Manual backups (extra safety)
Your entire world lives in one folder. You can download it any time:
Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0/<WorldFolder>/
Download it from the Files tab and keep a copy on your PC. To restore manually: stop the server, replace that folder with your copy, start again.
The worst time to think about backups is after a corrupted save. Make one now, and again before every game update or mod change. It takes under a minute.
When to restore
- World corrupted after a crash or failed update
- A raid or griefing incident you want to undo
- A mod broke the save
- You experimented with settings and regret everything
