How to Set Up Automatic Server Restarts

Palworld servers are notorious for slowly eating memory the longer they run. A daily automatic restart is the single best thing you can do for consistent performance, set it once and forget it.

Create a restart schedule

1. Open your server in the Game Panel.
2. Go to the Schedules tab and create a new schedule: pick a time when your players are least active (early morning works for most communities).
3. Add tasks to the schedule in this order:

• Send command: Broadcast Server_restart_in_5_minutes (Palworld's broadcast doesn't handle spaces well: underscores are the convention)
• Send command (with a delay): Save
• Power action: Restart

1. Enable the schedule and save.

The server now warns players, saves the world, and restarts itself every day.

How often should you restart?

• Small groups (2 to 10 players): once a day is plenty.
• Busy public servers: every 6 to 12 hours keeps things snappy.
• If you notice rubberbanding creeping in by evening, add a second restart.

Good to know

• The restart itself takes a minute or two: players can rejoin as soon as the console shows the server is up.
• A scheduled Save before the restart means nobody loses progress, even players who ignore the broadcast.
• Pair this with regular backups from the Backups tab for a fully hands-off server.
