Install modpacks through Modpack Installer. Pick your pack, install, restart. Java is set for you automatically, nothing to configure there.
Almost every "it won't start" problem after installing comes down to one thing: the pack needs more RAM than your plan has.
How to install it
- Check the modpack's listed RAM requirement first. See How Much RAM Does Your Modded Server Need? if you're unsure.
- Open Modpack Installer, find your pack, and install it.
- Restart the server.
- Watch Console during boot. If it crashes, the log names the mod causing it.
- Once Online, confirm a friend can connect to the server.
Updating an existing modpack? Take a Backup first, and avoid any "delete existing files" option during the download. Skipping this has cost players their entire world.
