Want your console and mobile friends on the same server as Java players? That's what crossplay does, a Java server that Bedrock players can join too.
How it works
- Geyser translates Bedrock connections so they can talk to a Java server.
- Floodgate lets Bedrock players join without needing a Java account.
ThundraNode sets both up for you with 1-click crossplay on Minecraft Java servers.
Enable crossplay
- Open your Minecraft Java server in the Game Panel.
- Enable the Crossplay option (or install Geyser + Floodgate from the plugin/addon installer, depending on your server type).
- Restart the server.
After the restart the console shows a Geyser line with the Bedrock listening port (default 19132).
Joining
- Java players connect exactly as before, using the normal address and port.
- Bedrock players add the server using two separate boxes: the IP in Server Address, and the port in Port. The panel gives Bedrock the same port as Java, so both use the same numbers.
Good to know
- Bedrock players get a
.prefix on their name (from Floodgate) so plugins can tell them apart. - A few Java features have no Bedrock equivalent (some particles, shift-clicking quirks). Geyser translates almost everything, but perfect parity isn't guaranteed.
- Crossplay is one-directional: Bedrock players join a Java server, not the other way around. If everyone plays Bedrock only, a dedicated Bedrock server is simpler.
