Updating Your Server
Your server downloads the newest version from Steam when it restarts. On launch day, one restart from the control panel puts you on 1.0.

When does Enshrouded 1.0 come out?
Enshrouded 1.0 releases on October 15, 2026 for PC (Steam) and PlayStation 5. It ends almost three years of Early Access. Xbox Series X|S versions are planned for spring 2027.
Will my Enshrouded server update to 1.0?
Yes. Your server downloads the latest Enshrouded version from Steam when it restarts. On launch day, restart it from the control panel and it runs 1.0. Take a backup from the Backups tab first, just to be safe.
Will my world carry over to Enshrouded 1.0?
Keen Games has not announced a world wipe for 1.0, and existing worlds have stayed playable through every Early Access update. Take a backup before you update so you can always roll back.
How many players can join an Enshrouded server?
An Enshrouded dedicated server supports up to 16 players in one world. Our 4 GB plan suits 1 to 4 players, 8 GB suits most groups of up to 10, and 12 GB is built for 11 to 16 players or very large bases.
How much RAM does an Enshrouded server need?
RAM use grows with your player count, how much of the map you have explored, and how big your bases are. Small co-op groups run well on 4 GB, most groups are happiest on 8 GB, and full 16-player worlds should use 12 GB. You can upgrade later as your world grows.
Can I upload my existing Enshrouded world?
Yes. Upload your save files through the file manager in the control panel and your group can pick up where you left off. If your world comes from a game you hosted in-game, our support team can help you move it.
Do our characters carry over between Enshrouded servers?
Yes. Enshrouded saves each character on the player's own PC, so gear, inventory, skills, and personal recipes come with you to any server. Rescued survivors and world progress stay with the world they belong to.
Can PS5 or Xbox players join my Enshrouded server?
Not at the moment. Keen Games has not confirmed crossplay between PC and consoles for the 1.0 launch, so plan on your server being for PC players on Steam. We will update this page if that changes.
Can I change the difficulty and game settings?
Yes. Pick the Default, Relaxed, Hard, or Survival preset, or choose Custom to tune enemy strength, resource drops, day and night length, and more. New settings apply after a server restart.
Can I install mods on my Enshrouded server?
Enshrouded does not have official mod support yet. Community mod loaders like Shroudtopia and EML, found on Nexus Mods, can run on dedicated servers, and you get full file access to install them. Mods are unofficial and can break after game updates like 1.0, so always take a backup first.
How do my friends join my Enshrouded server?
Open Enshrouded, go to the server list, search for your server name, and enter the password. Nobody needs to set up port forwarding or change router settings.
