1. What Is Device Authorization?

Device authorization is a safe and simple way to sign in without typing your login details into the game directly.

Instead, you:

  • Receive a short code in Hytale

  • Enter that code on a website

  • Approve the login

This is common on consoles and new games.

2. Downloading Hytale

  1. Start your Hytale server

  2. Open the server console

  3. Watch the console output during startup

  4. Copy or open the authorization URL that shows up in a browser. Log in with your Hytale account
  5. Once approved, you should see in the Console that downloading starts. This might take a few minutes

3. Starting the server

  1. Go back to the server console

  2. Make sure the server is running. Start it if not.

  3. Type in the following:
    auth login device

  4. Repeat the device auth flow from the previous step. You have to do this again

4. Storing your auth credentials

  1. To avoid having to repeat this, you have to manually store your credentials

  2. In the console, type:
    auth persistence Encrypted
  3. All done!

Common Issues

The code expired

  • Restart the sign-in process to get a new code

Nothing happens after authorizing

  • Wait a few seconds

  • Make sure you entered the code correctly

Wrong account signed in

  • Log out on the website and try again
